Habitat distribution
Found in moist parts of forests.
The original form
Evergreen vine with tendrils. Stem vine brown black, surface with yellow glandular spots; Bast fibers are long and strong and can be torn in bundles. Leaves palmately compound, long stalked, leaflets 5 to 12 cm long, 2 to 3 cm wide, slightly sickle-curved, margin serrated. Inflorescences axillary, green. Berry, as large as a pea, brown red when ripe.
Sexual flavour
Acid hemp, cold.
Function of the attending
Clearing heat and diuretic, dispersing blood stasis and activating blood, dispelling wind and dampness. Cystitis, urethritis, rheumatism, bone pain, injury, snake bite, boils, swelling and poison.
Usage.
Take orally: decocted soup, 0.5 ~ 1 liang. External use: tamping compress.
